The structure is over one hundred years old and is part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. Designed by a distinguished architect Max Berg, the Centennial Hall has amazed the world – at the time of construction, urban planners could not even imagine that such a great reinforced concrete structure could be erected. They warned the construction project will be a disaster, but instead, this ingenious and lasting structure has materialised, ushering a new era in construction work. This monumental hall used for big sports events and shows is 42 metres tall and forms an integral part of a historic complex surrounded by gardens and meticulously designed green areas providing ample opportunities for relaxation and rest.

The idea of a monumental painting – 15 x 114 metres, created between 1893 – 1894, was conceived by a renowned painter Jan Styka, who invited an excellent battle scene painter Wojciech Kossak and other painters to join him in this project. The Racławice Panorama has been one of the most visited venues in Wrocław.
