Don Williamson

Don is Chief Executive of Shared Care Scotland, one of Scotland’s leading national carer organisations that works to improve policy and practice in short breaks provision across Scotland. As well as policy influencing, representation and research related activity, Shared Care Scotland has responsibility for managing a national Short Breaks Fund which distributes £5.8m annually to third sector providers and oversees a national Respitality programme working closely with Scotland’s tourism, hospitality and leisure sector.

Don served as President of the International Short Breaks Association between 2014-2016 as part of Shared Care Scotland’s hosting of the 10th International Short Breaks conference in Edinburgh in 2016. Prior to Shared Care Scotland, Don was a Programme Director for the leadership development charity, Common Purpose, and before this was Deputy Director for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Scotland.
