Martina Pavić graduated from the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences at the
University of Zagreb and has worked at the Centre for Rehabilitation Zagreb for more than 15
years. She is the Service Manager of one of the three Supported Living Services, combining
service coordination with direct work with adults with intellectual disabilities.

Martina was actively involved in Croatia's deinstitutionalisation process, supporting one of
the first groups of people to move from institutional care into supported living in the
community. This experience shaped her commitment to person-centred practice.

The ISBA Conference in Edinburgh in 2016 inspired the development of Short Break
Services in Croatia. Since 2020, Martina has led the development of this service through an
EU-funded project, helping to establish Short Break Services as a new form of community-
based support for adults with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Martina believes that better services are built through collaboration, shared experience, and
continuous learning. She welcomes opportunities to connect with colleagues and exchange
ideas that support more inclusive communities.
