Catharine Shanahan is the Executive Director of Family Respite Services in Windsor, ON, Canada. FRS is an agency providing a wide spectrum of respite services for families who have children with disabilities and mental health challenges. For more than 30 years, Catharine has been involved in the development and delivery of short-break services and in leadership roles to encourage discussion, information sharing, training, and flexible models of inclusion and support.  In 2012, Catharine had the pleasure of co-chairing the ISBA conference held in Toronto, ON, and has presented at several ISBA conferences.  “Participating in the ISBA conferences has encouraged me, with opportunities to learn about programs and policies across the globe, ideas to adapt within my own agency, and given me enduring friendships.”  www.familyrespite.org
