Angharad Langford

Angharad Langford is Home Sharing Manager with Ability West in Galway, Ireland, and Vice
Chair of the National Home Sharing and Short Breaks Network. With more than 20 years’
experience in community-based disability services, she has led the development of person-
centred, rights-based Home Sharing respite and shared living supports for children and adults
with intellectual disabilities, and their families.

She holds an Honours Degree in Social Care in Disability Services and a postgraduate
qualification in Clinical Leadership. In her current role, she leads Home Sharing services,
including the recruitment, training, and support of Home Sharing families, and the development
of safe, high-quality placements. She works with families, multidisciplinary teams, and national
partners to ensure services are practical, sustainable, and grounded in best practice.

Angharad is passionate about developing flexible, individualised short break options that work
well for individuals and families. She has been connected to ISBA since the 2010 conference in
Galway and has served as the Irish representative to ISBA since 2025. Angharad values
connecting with colleagues across countries, sharing ideas, and learning from different
approaches to supporting families and communities.
