Dana MacMillan is the Chief Executive Officer of Wesway, a not-for-profit organization in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada that provides respite (short-break) services for individuals of all ages and their caregivers across Northern Ontario, a region spanning more than 800,000 square kilometres and encompassing urban, rural, and remote communities.

With more than 35 years of experience in the respite field, Dana has worked alongside families, caregivers, community partners, and service providers to help develop responsive, person-centred respite services that reflect the unique needs of each caregiving situation across diverse communities and vast distances. Dana is a founding member of the International Short Break Association (ISBA) and helped bring the international respite community together by hosting the first International Conference on Respite (Short-Break) Services in Thunder Bay in 1995.

She is passionate about supporting caregivers, strengthening communities, and promoting the value of respite as an essential part of health and well-being. Dana believes in collaboration, continuous learning, and working in partnership to improve supports for individuals and families.
